Material & Dimensions

The structural integrity of the canopy is determined by the materials used for the wall mount and the type of glazing.

1. Support Frame Materials: The wall mounting must be stable enough to bear the necessary load, especially heavy snow.

Aluminum: A modern, robust, and low-maintenance material. It offers a cool, sleek look that perfectly complements glass. Aluminium allows for free-floating constructions, where the canopy is held only on one wall side, creating a striking, visually "suspended" effect. Aluminium elements can be customized in colors such as White, Anthracite, or Silver.
Stainless Steel (Edelstahl): Also provides clear edges and a cool, smooth look, and allows for free-supporting constructions. While heavier than aluminium, this higher weight translates to even greater stability, allowing the frame to withstand extremely high loads.

2. Glazing Materials: The glazing must meet technical requirements for high load-bearing capacity and impact resistance (e.g., against hail).

Acrylic Glass (PMMA): Technically a plastic (Polymethyl methacrylate), but visually indistinguishable from real glass. It is especially lightweight and highly shatterproof, offering great stability and longevity.Advantages: Higher light transmission than real glass, excellent UV resistance (protecting the door/façade), and available in clear or satinized (frosted) finish. A satinized finish also provides privacy.
Stegglas (Multi-Wall Sheets): Consists of two assembled acrylic glass panes, making it even more robust. The connecting webs create a honeycomb-like structure that adds stability and gives the canopy its distinctive look.
Laminated Safety Glass (VSG - Verbundsicherheitsglas): This is a real glass canopy option. It consists of at least two panes held together by a special tear-resistant foil (fused under heat and high pressure).Note: VSG is shatterproof, meaning the foil prevents the glass from breaking into dangerous shards even if the outer pane cracks from a hard impact. However, due to its significantly higher weight, the supplier specializes in Acrylic, Stegglas, or Polycarbonate for easier and faster installation.
