Design and Customization
Solarfenster are constructed with a double-glazed unit: two glass panes separated by a cavity filled with acrylic-glass strips.

Along the bottom edge of these strips are solar cells that redirect sunlight from the glazing surface downwards to the cells. The system can work without external wiring in retrofit and renovation settings.

Solarfenster can be configured with remote-controlled or motorized opening and closing mechanisms as well as automatic sensors (e.g. rain sensors) to manage ventilation and climate control, using the generated energy for operation.
