The VELUX Solar Integrator Flashing System is a line of specially engineered flashings (Eindeckrahmen) designed to integrate VELUX roof windows seamlessly and securely into Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) systems.

These solutions ensure perfect weather and rain resistance, maintaining the aesthetic of a continuous roofline while allowing for optimal daylight and ventilation alongside solar power generation.

Aesthetic Goal: Creates an aesthetically pleasing, uniform look where the roof window and solar collectors form a single, integrated unit.
Installer Benefit: Ensures a fast, correct, and watertight connection between the roof window and the PV mounting system.
Zero Shadow Effect: The flashing is designed not to obstruct or cast shadows on the active parts of the adjacent PV modules.

PV Integration Scenarios and Flashing Types

The required flashing system depends on how the PV modules are installed on the roof:

On-Roof PV (Aufdach-PV):
- System: PV modules are installed above the roof tiles using a rail system.
- Compatibility: All VELUX windows and Light Solutions are compatible.
- Flashing Required: Uses VELUX Standard Flashings (EDW, EKW, EDJ, EKJ).
In-Roof PV (Indach-PV / BIPV) and Solar Tiles:
- System: PV modules or solar tiles replace the roof covering (tiles/shingles).
- Compatibility: Requires specialized flashings for a watertight seal.

These flashings are engineered to be level with the Photovoltaic (PV) system, creating a flush, elegant appearance.

The VELUX window is built 40 to 45 mm (approx. 1.6 to 1.8 inches) deeper into the roof to achieve a clean, level surface.

A. ODL / OKL Flashing System

Compatibility: Specifically designed to integrate with In-Roof systems from:GSE / CreatonViridianHomijEnnogie
Configuration:ODL: Used for the integration of single roof windows.
ODL / OKL Combo: Used for integrating VELUX Light Solutions (DUO, Light Strip, Roof Balcony) with the PV systems.
Finish: Available in 2 colors (Grey and Black) and 7 different sizes.
Aesthetic Note: For a perfect match with black PV modules, the windows themselves can be ordered with a black exterior cladding (NCS S 0500-N).

B. ODN Flashing System

Compatibility: Specifically designed to integrate with In-Roof systems from:Emergo
Finish: Available in 2 colors (Grey and Black) and 7 different sizes.

Installation and Technical Flexibility

These specialized flashings offer features critical for a professional, watertight installation:

Lateral Flexibility: The unique side panel design allows for a 25 mm (approx. 1.0 inch) lateral tolerance during installation. This flexibility simplifies achieving the perfect position within the PV grid.
Watertight Seal: Features a lateral rebate (side fold) on the flashing, which allows special metal sheets (Einschubbleche) to be easily mounted, ensuring a dense, secure connection to the in-roof solar system.
Flashing Material: The components are specially developed to connect VELUX windows with a wide variety of BIPV manufacturers.

Compatibility with Sun Protection

Internal Sun Protection: Compatible with all VELUX interior sun protection products (blinds, curtains).
External Heat Protection: The installation of exterior sun protection (awnings/roller shutters) must be checked on a case-by-case basis by the installation contractor (bauseitig überprüft).
